Scout’s Honor Rescue

Logo Refresh

Scout's Honor Rescue has an emotional attachment to their logo because it is based off of an image of the very first animal they rescued. The group has been rescuing and placing dogs and cats for the past eleven years since Scout was saved! The task of refreshing their logo to bring it up to modern design standards and bring their colors inline with the new website design while still keeping the integrity of the original image of Scout was not taken lightly.

We decided to modernize the "Seal" look of the logo to a smooth edge circle and updated the font face and size of the organization. The most challenging step was the recreation of Scout's animation from the original image. Once this was accomplished it all came together!

Website, CMS, MODX, Responsive, Retina

The Scout's Honor Rescue website is one of the organization's main tools to show off the wonderful animals in their program and help people find their next rescued pet. Our goal was to make a lightning fast pet search that people could use to narrow down their choices and help find the animal they are looking for. We integrated the API feed from RescueGroups.org with a custom MODX Snippet to do a daily import of all of their current animal information so that Scout's Honor didn't have to change their current workflow.

We also wanted to make the site useful for the community, so we added an event management system, news blog and resources center. Lastly, we refactored their foster and adoption forms to be dynamic and easier for users to complete.
