The Institute of Real Estate Management “IREM” FoodFest is an annual fundraising event where members cook all types of theme-based foods in hopes of winning the prized People’s Choice and Judge’s awards. It’s always a ton of fun and we love participating and defending our title!
The collateral design, event development, setup and execution really make this a multi-faceted project. This past year, not only did we design custom graphics for the booth and recipe development, we also created custom T-shirts, recipe cards, food containers and handheld fans to reinforce the branded booth theme and our tailgating snacks.
Our team included Blair, Vanessa, Lizzie and myself with each of us taking on different roles to move the project along. Since we have approximately four months to prepare, we divided the roles in order to be more efficient. We divided up the thematic research, price and product research, budgets, recipe development, marketing collateral, design, and project management.
Since we are Friends of IREM (preferred vendors), our number one goal was to support the organization but it is also great exposure for us since real estate is an industry we specialize in. The FoodFest is an incredibly relaxed event with many types of businesses and industries coming together to compete. This event is a unique setting for networking; the friendly competition and banter allow for a lot of ice-breaking and mingling. And yes, we did manage to hold onto our title for People’s Choice!
